How to use Encet-L Tablet Follow your doctor’s guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Encet-L Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it’s advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
How it works
How Encet-L Tablet works Encet-L Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast, which relieves sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.
Alcohol
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Encet-L Tablet .
Pregnancy
Encet-L Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
Encet-L Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
Encet-L Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
Encet-L Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Encet-L Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.Use of Encet-L Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
Encet-L Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Encet-L Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.Limited information is available on the use of Encet-L Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Encet-L Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
